Principles of Manual Handling Training

Course Overview:

This course enables delegates to appreciate the importance of minimising risk of injury and will demonstrate safe techniques for lifting or carrying loads.

Course / Session Duration:

This is a one-day course which can be delivered online or as a traditional face-to-face tutor led session on your own site or venue.

• Understand the hazards of undertaking any manual handling activity

• Identify the risks involved and controls available 

• Establish what to anticipate from a manual handling risk assessment

• Recognise any process of manual handling within the workplace 

• Appreciate all manual handling injuries and the activities which trigger them 

• Demonstrate manual handling assessment and the control options 

• Determine all responsibilities imposed by the manual handling operations regulations

Target Audience:

This course is designed for those who carry out any manual handling activity, and is suitable for all who handle materials, boxes, mail, and packages including both industrial and office workers.

Assessment Method:

Delegates will be assessed on a practical exercise and complete a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course. On successful completion of the course and assessment, delegates can be issued with a certificate.
