Introduction to ROGS Training

 

Course Overview:

This course provides delegates with an understanding of the Railway and other Guided Transport Systems Regulations 2006 (ROGS) and developing and maintaining staff competence.

Course / Session Duration:

This is a 1-day course.  This course can be delivered online or as a traditional face-to-face tutor led session on your own site or venue.

​

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of ROGS, how they are applied and what they replaced

  • Understand the key features of ROGS that you need to know in your role

  • Gain familiarity with the European regulations transferred to UK law after Brexit - Common Safety Method (CSM) and Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM)

  • Understand the role of Competence Management Systems (CMS) under ROGS

  • Designing and implementing a CMS to maintain and develop competence

  • The requirement to verify, audit and review competence, not just training

  • The role of health and fitness in a management system

  • The principles of fatigue management

Target Audience:

This course is suitable for people who need an appreciation of the legal basis for health and safety controls in any rail related organisations or supplier.

​

Assessment Method:

The delegates will be observed on workshop participation. We can provide an end of course exam, tailored to suit the role(s) of the delegates.
