Fire Safety & Awareness Training

Course Overview:

This course provides delegates with a knowledge of fire safety, the cause of fires, the relevant legislation, fire safety signs, extinguishers, and fire safety in the workplace.

​

Course / Session Duration:

This is a one-day course that can be delivered online or as a traditional face-to-face tutor led session on your own site or venue. To ensure effectiveness of demonstration we recommend this course is delivered face to face.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand general fire safety, and the importance of legislation

  • Identify the potential hazards that can cause a fire and how quickly these spread

  • Identify what common route causes result in a fire

  • Establish the importance of fire safety risk assessments and safety measures

  • Explain knowledge of evacuation procedures, responsible persons, and a designated fire meeting point

  • Recognise fire classifications, properties, and symbols

  • Learn the 6 different types of fire extinguishers and how to use these safely

  • Understand the potential health risks and PPE required if tackling a fire

  • Determine how fires can be prevented

Target Audience:

This course is designed for all work environments who require designated persons to be responsible for fire safety within the workplace.

Assessment Method:

Delegates will be assessed during the course via practical demonstration where possible and a written knowledge assessment. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, delegates can be issued with a certificate.
