Abrasive Wheels Training

 

Course Overview:

The use of abrasive wheels can be extremely dangerous if they are not mounted, used, and maintained correctly. This course covers health and safety regulations and safe working practices associated with abrasive wheels.

Course / Session Duration:

The course is delivered on the client’s premises as it provides a practical session for wheel/disc changing and mounting for the specific equipment in use. This is a 1 day course, for a maximum of 8 delegates.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course delegates will be able to:

• Identify hazards associated with abrasive wheels

• Consider precautions to be taken

• Correctly store and handle abrasive wheels

• Select an appropriate abrasive wheel for a specific machine and task

• Carry out inspection and safe mounting of abrasive wheels

Target Audience:

The target audience for this course is anyone who uses or supervises/manages the use of abrasive wheels or angle grinding machinery as part of their role.

Assessment Method:

This course will conclude with a multi choice examination and practical assessment. Upon successful completion of both the practical exercises and multi choice exam, delegates will be issued with a certificate.
