Lifting & Slinging Course
The aim of the course is to enhance the existing skills of delegates, in performing tasks involving the lifting and slinging of components and equipment in a safe and correct manner.
Course Content
- Selecting and using chains and chain slings
- Selecting and using wire rope slings
- Using 'Safe Working Load' charts
- Slinging and moving loads
- Working with cranes
- Calculating the weights and centres of gravity of loads and taking these factors into account of slinging and moving safely
- Relevant current legislation relating to lifting and slinging and general site and workshop safety standards
- Lifting tackle inspection, maintenance and storage procedures
Course Duration
The course will be of a duration agreed with the client but normally no more than one day.
Certification
Delegates will receive a Certificate on successful completion of the course.
