Many industries and services use Abrasive Wheels in the workplace.  The use of Abrasive Wheels can be extremely dangerous if they are not mounted, used and maintained correctly.

This comprehensive half-day course covers the health and safety regulations and safe working practices associated with abrasive wheels.  The course is delivered on the client's premises and provides a practical session for wheel/disc changing and mounting for the specific equipment in use.

  • The requirements of the Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) 
  • Abrasive wheels hazards, risks & control measures
  • Safe Ten stages
  • Selecting & Identifying Abrasive wheels (markings/types & speeds)
  • Inspecting and Testing abrasive wheels
  • Storing Abrasive Wheels
  • Mounting of Abrasive wheels & Guard design
  • Truing & Dressing wheels

On completion of this course candidates will be able to:

Course Duration

This is a half-day course with an assessment on completion.
